Travelling the world is easier than you think

Over the last 2 years alone, I will have travelled further than Christopher Columbus did in his entire life.

  1. Find a remote job, understand their boundaries, ask if you can work remotely from a different country for x months.
  2. Travel to these countries, ideally a place with a different timezone so you can work very early or very late and make the most of the regular days in the societies you are visiting!
  3. Figure out the balance. There is more to life than your job, allow yourself to prioritise multiple things at once.

How to do it?

  1. Book the flight
  2. Book the first couple weeks of hotels. Don't book anything more in the future, don't book extra flights once you're there. Just go with the flow, I wasted hundreds on flights we didn't go on due to flooding, bad weather and re-routing our trips priorities! Please don't make the same mistake as me.
  3. Pack a light small bag, all you need is a couple tees and trousers, pants, socks, 1 pair of shoes and your work laptop. Everything else is optional. I used the Osprey Farpoint 40. Worked great for me, maybe a bit big if you pack it fully out. I managed to carry on to every Asian airline. Pack for the best case scenario.. leave your fears behind.
  4. Enjoy the lifestyle, take it easy, make sure you push yourself every day to do something uncomfortable. Try to not get too stressed about not making the most of it, you're still doing your 9-5!
